IN AN INSTANT

In An Instant is an ongoing handstitched needlepoint installation. The stitch work is an ongoing meditation ritual. The title draws the viewer’s awareness to the infinite possibilities that exist within the present moment. This awareness is arrived at through the repetitive marks of the stitch and the many patterns that are formed through the ever expansive grid structure of the plastic canvas, which the needlepoint is formed through. The work was first displayed at the Indianapolis International Airport in the Summer/Autumn of 2020 and measured 5.5’ x 10’. The work now measures 5.5’ x 20’ and continues to expand.
